John Greenwald
John Greenwald, late brother of Mark Greenwald, was a journalist, editor, passionate artist, and friend to many in the art community of Vankleek Hill. His art primarily focused on the drawing and painting of nudes.
He drew his first nude as a 16-year-old high schooler in New York at the Art Students League: “I had never seen a live nude model before; but after a minute or so of trepidation, I began to draw; and immediately I was hooked. There was something about the abstract beauty of the naked figure. I saw the nude figure as a template for experiments in colour, expression, abstraction, and playfulness.”
