Christine Lenoir-Godin

Christine Lenoir-Godin was born in 1946 in Montreal, Quebec, and her artistic life began in the 1950s.

In childhood, she was taught art by her artist mother, who emphasized disciplined practice and the principles of art. In adolescence, her mother introduced her to Riopelle, Picasso, and Matisse, which influenced Christine’s artistic journey as an abstract painter. She still retains her early Impressionistic approach. Though mostly self-taught, Christine obtained her Certificate in Art Fundamentals in 2014 from the Ottawa School of Art at the age of 68. Critics describe Christine’s work as powerful and imaginative.
