Leslie MacCulloch Simon

Artist Bio:

Leslie’s paintings in acrylic or oil capture remnants of a simpler time – old farm buildings, horses, and buggies, old trucks, and natural landscapes. They evoke emotion and nostalgia for an ever-changing rural scene. Her family has deep roots in the farmland near St. André d’Argenteuil; many of them, including Leslie, still live in the immediate area. Charcoal drawings remain Leslie’s favourite, although she has developed a passion for oils as well. Every piece of artwork, for her, is an emotional journey from start to finish. She first drew houses as a teenage and has been painting more seriously since the 1990’s. She studied under Pauline Brousso Joanisse and Ginette Robillard. Her work has been shown at the Lachute Library, Maison du Collecteur in Carillon, and the Arbor Gallery in Vankleek Hill.
