Home Routes Concert: Brock Zeman
Monday, October 29th, 2018 at 7pm

When it comes to storytelling, Brock Zeman is a master craftsman. The Ottawa based singer-songwriter began as a punk rocker and now is influenced by blues, country, bluegrass and roots music.
With an acoustic guitar and raspy voice (think Tom Waits) Brock has managed to preserve the ethos of his punk rock while chiselling Americana soundscapes to speak Truth. Brock has won numerous songwriting awards, including the 2016 International Songwriting Competition and was a finalist in 2017.

Accompanist Blair Hogan has a great melodic sensibility, weaving around lyrics with well-crafted hooks full of delay reverb. When not on the road with Brock, Hogan does session work in Ottawa, and plays rock and roll with "Silver Creek".

“Not many people can do what Brock Zeman does…These are good songs—really good songs.”
-No Depression

“jaw-dropping songwriting genius.”
