“Whether I am working on a personal or corporate commission in oil, watercolour, pencil or pastel, my objective is to get at the heart of my subject matter. My work reflects my rural roots and is a collision of two worlds: Realism and Expressionism. Realism allows me to affect the cerebral that is human nature – our desire to recognize a shape, place and subject, while the strokes, drips and splatter are the result of an intuitive relation to the medium at hand. Bridging the ephemeral; nostalgia, resilience, desire, loss, love. I love connecting with others through my artwork.”
