These three pieces are a combination of something of myth and emotion. Two of them portray mythological archetypes, and the third is a depiction of carnal human nature. To me Eros was not only the Greek god who fell in love with Venus, but something that encompasses the whole scope of the human heart and all its colored emotions. That is something very difficult to paint, and I believe what many artists have been driven to capture in their works, all the way back to the first woman a man ever carved from stone.
