I started exploring photography when I was twelve, with a 110 camera I received as a Christmas gift from my parents. That Christmas, I did impromptu portraiture basically with anyone who would allow it. I remember paying attention, albeit very intuitively, to composition, framing, lighting and the likes—without knowing at the time, that these were some of the very essential basics of photography. Suffice to say I was hooked! I remember being so excited that I couldn’t stop taking pictures, roll after roll... and I’ve never stopped since: for family, friends and eventually, for private clients and the press, namely for The Review (English weekly, Vankleek Hill, Ontario) and for my own personal creative portfolio as well. In my commercial work, I am very passionate about portraiture, where I try to tell a story with my lens. In my artistic work, very unconsciously, I've become enamoured with textures and patterns. This is a source of great fun and creativity for me. It shows people what I see and notice everywhere and all the time: real beauty in the most simplest things. I feel that I am only at the beginning of this creative journey and hope it continues to yield interesting discoveries for me in the future. Sláinte!
